Laser Pigmentation in Silverdale

Laser Pigmentation

Am I a Candidate

Welcome to Kate Allen Aesthetics

Achieve a Fresh New Face

Laser can improve unwanted pigment caused by the sun and aging. This include freckles, age spots, and liver spots. The laser works by targeting the melanin, causing heat destruction to the pigment, breaking it down into smaller particles that can be absorbed and eliminated by the body’s natural processes over the following weeks. The surrounding skin tissue remains unharmed. As the body absorbs the broken-down pigment, the lesion gradually fades away. Multiple treatment sessions may be required to achieve optimal results.

Our Candela Gentlemax Pro Laser, uses light and heat to precisely target unwanted melanin in your skin. This breaks up the melanin, causing it to “milo” or darken and slowly surface and flake off. This process typically takes 1-2 weeks.

The treatment is quick and comfortable and requires no downtime, making it a popular choice for those who want to improve their skin’s appearance without aggressive skin peels or resurfacing.  A full face treatment takes up to 30 minutes. The treatment is finished off with a cool compress, medi-soothe and SPF sunscreen.  Most clients will benefit from 1-3 treatments at intervals 4-8 weeks apart or as advised by your treatment provider.

There are few contraindications for this treatment however clients on photosensitive medication, melanoma history or pregnant/lactating may be unsuitable.

A consultation is required prior to treatment to ensure this is the safest and most effective solution for you.

Post Treatment

Post-Care Instructions

Following Laser Rejuvenation Therapy in Silverdale, Kate Allen Aesthetics Recommends:

Follow Aftercare Instructions

We recommend you apply Medi-Soothe as often as required following treatment. This can be purchased in clinic.

The area treated may be warm and/or red for up to 2-4 days. Treat the skin gently for first 2-4 days, as if you had sunburn. If the skin is uncomfortable or itchy you can cool with a cold face cloth or apply Medi-soothe as required.  Avoid excess heat such as exercise, saunas, extra hot showers, electric blankets/hot water bottles, hair dryers for 24 hours. Layering excess heat on top of the laser energy is a key danger factor.  Keep the treated area clean and dry, do not apply friction, perfume or swim/sauna/spa for 2 days following treatment.  Ensure you stay well sun protected following the treatment and for the duration of the course. Use sunscreen daily minimum of SPF 30+. No use of sun beds.  Do not use self tan products for at least 3 days after your treatment.

Rest and hydrate

One of the most important components of your recovery will be rest and hydration.

Avoid friction

Avoid touching, scratching or friction on the treatment area.

No Baths/Saunas/Swimming

To avoid infection, do not bath, spa, sauna or go swimming for 48 hours following treatment.

Use Ice Packs

Ice packs can be used to alleviate discomfort along with paracetamol – you can apply this via a clean cloth, not directly onto the skin.
